Stevenson S. MacWhinney papers, 1915-1920 (bulk 1918).

Papers, 1917-1919 (bulk 1918). Most of the collection is made up of MacWhinney's letters and diaries documenting his experience in the Army. They describe basic training at Camp Upton, Yaphank, Long Island, service on the Western Front, and time in France waiting to return home, including description of Aix-les-Bains. Other subjects include religious matters and family conflicts. The collection also contains letters to MacWhinney from members of his family; his army records; three maps of France; newspaper clippings; postcards, many of Aix-les-Bains; other ephemera; two 77th Division Statue of Liberty patches, and a piece of material, perhaps from a flag.
